Leader in Me is an evidence-based, comprehensive model that builds leadership and life skills in students, creates a high-trust school culture, and lays the foundation for sustained academic achievement.
The mission of Leader in Me is to unleash the greatness in students, educators, and school communities everywhere.
St. Tammany Parish Public Schools (STPPS) is excited to implement the Leader in Me program and join over 5,000 schools in all 50 states and in over 50 countries. STPPS is in year two of a three year implementation process. Year two is adult focused. Adults will live the "7 Habits" before teaching them to students.
Leader in Me is the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program in STPPS.

Abita Elementary started the Growing Leader in Me awards. Students are recognized for showing leadership.
When presented with an unusual problem, one Magnolia Trace Elementary student had a proactive idea. To deal with a few unwelcome ants on campus, she recommended getting an anteater. Principal Jamie Beaux and School Board members Mrs. McCollum and Mr. Green were impressed with her innovative idea, and gifted her with a stuffed anteater for thinking outside the box.
Students at Whispering Forest Elementary totally synergized and collaborated to make art for their school.
Teachers and students worked together to create relationship agreements and created beautiful art. They are growing their relationships one day and one petal at a time.
Honey Island Elementary created a beautiful 7 Habits Bee Hive.
