SWE Parent Rights & Resources Hub

Welcome to the Students with Exceptionalities Family Rights & Resources Hub for St. Tammany Parish Public Schools.

Every student's journey is unique, and no family walks it alone. We believe families are valued partners from the very first step through every milestone along the way. Whether you're learning about Students with Exceptionalities services for the first time, preparing for an evaluation or IEP meeting, planning for future transitions, or celebrating your child's achievements, we're here to support, encourage, and grow with you.

This hub serves as a central location for the information, resources, and tools families need throughout their child's educational journey. Here you'll find guidance on parent rights, procedural safeguards, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), IEP Facilitators, Students with Exceptionalities Department Leads (SWEDLs), transition resources, pathways to graduation, family engagement opportunities, community resources, seclusion and restraint, cameras in SWE classrooms, outside service provider requests, the Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC), commonly used acronyms, frequently asked questions, and other district programs and services designed to support students with exceptionalities and their families from early childhood through graduation and beyond.

We invite you to explore these resources, stay connected, ask questions, and celebrate alongside us as we partner with your family through every step of your student's journey.
