Temporary Authority to Teach (TAT) Certified Employment Opportunities

We are not currently hiring for the 2024-2025 school year. Any applications received will be considered for the 2025-2026 school year after the Teacher Job Fair in May.

Teacher taking notes at professional development

Temporary Authority to Teach (TAT) certified employment opportunities allow college graduates with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum 2.20 GPA to teach for one year on a temporary teaching certificate. The degree should be related to the subject area being taught. We are hiring temporary certificate teachers in all critical needs areas. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 2.20 will be subject to a personal interview for acceptance.

These are one calendar school year positions. While on a TAT, you must take the Praxis II content test in your subject area and the Teaching of Reading: Elementary (5205) Praxis test if interested in Elementary 1-5 and all-level Special Education (SWE) areas. If you pass the Praxis II and Teaching of Reading Praxis (if applicable), you can apply for the Teach St. Tammany Program or another alternative certification program to earn a teaching certificate and possible permanent position.
