Memorializing
Dedicated Service
in the
St. Tammany Parish
Public School System
______

The success of the
St. Tammany Parish
Public Schools is due in large part to the employees who formed the strong foundation on which the System is built.

Preservation Plaza

The St. Tammany Parish School Board Preservation Plaza is located on the Jefferson Avenue Side of the C. J. Schoen Administrative Complex in Covington providing a beautiful and lasting tribute to the dedicated service that past employees have given to education in St. Tammany Parish.

Preservation Plaza features sculptures, benches, and walkways with inscribed bricks honoring the service of retired employees from the System. The service of retired employees can be memorialized through the purchase of personalized bricks, which form the circular walkways throughout the Plaza. Other donations can be made for the purchase of sculptures, benches, and other additions to the Plaza.

Bricks may be purchased in the name of any individual who retired from the St. Tammany Parish Public School System or who passed away while in service after at least 10 years of employment. A donation of $75 is required for the purchase of each brick. The Employee's name, position, and starting and ending dates of service will be inscribed on each brick. Donors and recipients being honored by the purchase of an inscribed brick or other donation are listed on this Web site. These listings are available by clicking here .

Preservation Plaza Brick Inscriptions Suggested
As Special Remembrances

More than 200 individuals have been honored by the purchase of specially inscribed bricks for Preservation Plaza, a project which commemorates the service of persons who have worked for public education during the past 109 years.

The bricks are of special interest to those who wish to recognize favorite teachers, support personnel, and administrators who have retired or passed on.

Many of the bricks already donated have been ordered by former students and colleagues of the persons honored, and many have been ordered by the individuals themselves inscribed with their own names to lend support to this important and enduring community heritage project.
