STPPS Wins Big at Louisiana Seafood ProStart Invitational

The Louisiana Restaurant Education Foundation hosted the Louisiana Seafood ProStart Invitational on March 6th and 7th at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center.

The Invitational held two competitions with Day 1 being the BRG Hospitality Culinary Competition, and the Raising Cane's Management Competition on Day 2.

Lakeshore High competed against 23 other ProStart teams and took home the first place prize in the BRG Hospitality Culinary Competition, while Pearl River High secured fourth place. For this competition, teams created a three-course gourmet meal in one hour using two butane burners.

The judges also gave out a series of "Judges' Picks" awards specific to skills and techniques with Mandeville High winning the Teamwork Award for the BRG Hospitality Culinary Competition.

Lakeshore High's ProStart team will go on to the next round where they will represent the entire state of Louisiana at the national ProStart Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland on April 26-28.

Congratulations to all of our winners and good luck to Lakeshore High in the National Competition!
