St. Tammany Parish Public School System (STPPS) is expanding its partnership with the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Bayou Chapter and EXCEL USA to provide a tuition-free welding workforce training program for high school students ages 16 and older.
The program gives students an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on skills and industry experience while working toward an industry-based credential (IBC).
The welding course will begin Wednesday, September 30th, and will be held each Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Fontainebleau High School.
High school students interested in participating can pick up an application from their school's front office.
A mandatory parent meeting will be held:
- Date: Wednesday, September 23rd
- Time: 6:00 p.m.
- Location: Fontainebleau High School Library
Completed applications must be submitted at the parent meeting.
Students and families with questions about the program should contact their school's School-to-Work Coordinator.
