STPPS Earns Top ACT Scores
St. Tammany Parish Public School students earned the highest average ACT score of all districts in Louisiana. With an average composite ACT score of 20.5, this represents an increase over the previous year and exceeds both the state and national averages.
This achievement builds on the district’s significant gains in its District Performance Score announced earlier this week, showing improvement in all measures of student performance.
“Our students earning the highest average ACT scores in the state and exceeding the national average shows that our district is not only a leader in education, but we are also continuing to grow. Our students graduate with the tools they need to be successful after graduation,” said Superintendent Jabbia. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our students and the dedication of our teachers, employees and their families who support them.”
Highlights from the ACT results include:
- 67% of students scored 18 or higher, an increase of 2% from the previous year.
- 47% of students scored 21 or higher, marking a 3% increase over last year.
- STPPS leads the state in the percentage of students scoring 18 or higher and 21 or higher, demonstrating students are prepared for college and careers.
- Scores exceed the state average (18.4) and national average (19.4), indicating STPPS is a leader at the state and national levels.
- Scores increased for the second consecutive year, highlighting continued growth and progress.
The St. Tammany Parish Public School System continues to focus on college and career readiness by providing students with tools and support to succeed.
