Five STPPS Students Named 2024 National Merit Semifinalists
We are proud to announce that five St. Tammany Parish Public School students have been named 2024 National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
These students, who are ranked among the highest performing high school students in the state and the top one percent in the nation, will compete for prestigious National Merit Scholarships later this school year.
This year’s semifinalists are Yousef Saadeh and Michael Willems of Fontainebleau High; and Nicholas Franklin, Elise Parnell, and Blaise Polk of Mandeville High.
164 STPPS students have been recognized as National Merit Semifinalists over the last thirteen years.
“These five students have put in the dedication and hard work that it takes to receive an honor like this, and we couldn’t be happier to see it pay off for them,” said Superintendent Frank Jabbia. “We are all extremely proud of our semifinalists and look forward to seeing what the future holds for them.”
