2025 Student of the Year Regional Honorees

We are excited to announce that all three of our district Student of the Year winners have been recognized as 2025 Student of the Year Regional Honorees by the Louisiana Department of Education! These students were selected based on their excellence in leadership, academic performance, achievements, citizenship, and service to their school and community. 

Congratulations to Lauren Singleton from Mayfield Elementary, Calen Sutter from Mandeville Junior High, and Hannah Bradley from Mandeville High for this incredible achievement. Regional honorees will move on to the next round of the competition where they will compete to be a finalist for state Student of the Year.

 

Meet the Students

Lauren Singleton, Mayfield Elementary (5th Grade)

With perfect attendance since she began school in kindergarten and a near perfect GPA, Lauren is always striving to be the best student she possibly can. Lauren is active at her school as a member of the Cheer Team, Book Bears, Bears on the Media, and the Lighthouse Team. She also stays busy in her community by volunteering for a number of activities including the Lemonade Day Louisiana fundraiser, making craft snowflakes and delivering them to a local nursing home, and collecting and donating toys for the Toys for Tots program during the holiday season. Lauren has participated in Pep Squad, performed at her school’s Black History Program, plays the cello in band, and acts in Talented Theater.
 

Calen Sutter, Mandeville Junior High (8th Grade)

As a varsity member of his school’s basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball teams as well as having maintained a perfect GPA, Calen has proven himself to be both a talented athlete and a phenomenal student. He is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, has participated in track and field, created a study group for student athletes and helped tutor his peers through it, and was a member of the Lake Harbor Middle Student Council. Outside of school, Calen contributes to his community through a variety of ways including raising money for pediatric eye care through the One Eye Foundation, fundraised for ALS with Crawfish Cookin’ for a Cause, and has volunteered to help with hurricane relief and the cleanup of local parks.

Hannah Bradley, Mandeville High (12th Grade)

Having earned a 4.5 cumulative GPA and a score of 30 on the ACT, Hannah has proven herself to be a model student. She is one of seven state-wide officers in Louisiana HOSA - Future Health Professionals, assists with Mandeville High classroom and garden beautification projects, is a member of the National Honor Society, and is the captain of the Anatomage team. Hannah is also a teacher at the Tiger-Rock Martial Arts Academy where she is an internationally certified Taekwondo instructor, and serves as a judge at competitions. Hannah has also used her martial arts expertise to become the co-founder and captain of a self-defense program called Women’s All Stars. She has worked particularly with students who have special needs such as amputees and individuals with autism, and has won over thirty-five gold, silver, and bronze medals at international, national, and regional levels of competition. Hannah stays active in her local community by participating in a number of volunteer opportunities including the Monster Mash event at St. Tammany Hospital, assisting with the Pontchartrain Elementary PTA face painting event, and the Parents Night Out event.
