STAR Partner Application

Please review the application process and business expectations before submitting your application.

Application Process
All businesses must submit an application form to be considered for a partnership with the STAR Program. Return the completed application form to star@stpsb.org or mail to STAR Program; 321 N. Theard Street; Covington, LA 70433.

Approved businesses will receive further information about promotional materials and employee participation. The discount submitted by your business takes effect at the time the application is approved and is expected to be active for one full year.

The St. Tammany Parish Public School System STAR Program assumes no obligation or liability and does not endorse any product, service, discount or vendor. The STAR Program reserves the right, without notice, to deny or revoke a vendor’s participation in the program. All vendors agree to all conditions set forth in the policy and any subsequent revisions. All School System employees are encouraged to shop and compare prices and services before purchasing, signing any contract, or making any arrangements. The St. Tammany Parish School Board and the STAR Program assume no responsibility for any arrangements, contracts, purchases, or disputes between an individual employee and any discount vendor.    

• Comply with all STAR Program guidelines

• Offer the discount for one full year

• Make the discount available to ALL St. Tammany Parish Public School System employees and retirees

• Unsolicited contact with School System employees, in any way, is prohibited at School System work locations

• Ensure the discount is an added value or actual discount on products or services that is greater than discounts offered to the general public

• Use of the St. Tammany Parish Public School System name or logo for marketing purposes is prohibited

How do I notify the STAR Program if there is an error in my business listing on the STAR website?
If there is an error in your business listing on the STAR website, please contact the STAR Program at star@stpsb.org.

The discount my business is offering is no longer valid. How do I change my offered discount?
Businesses are asked to make a discount available for one full year. If the discount cannot be fulfilled throughout the year, please contact the STAR Program at star@stpsb.org as soon as possible. If a discount cannot be fulfilled, businesses will have to go through re-submittal application process in order to continue to participate in the STAR Program.

Can I use the STAR logo in advertisements for my business or on my business website?
Yes, you may use the STAR Program logo for marketing purposes. If you need a digital version of the logo, please email star@stpsb.org.

As a STAR partner, am I allowed to distribute flyers to schools?
No, STAR partners are not allowed to make unsolicited contact, in any way, with School System employees at School System work locations. Employees are notified of your discount on the STAR website and through other internal promotional materials generated by the School System. Persons and organizations wishing to communicate with faculty and students in public schools about commercial businesses, fund-raising opportunities, or community events are asked to follow specific guidelines required by the St. Tammany Parish School Board. A “Letter of Introduction” application needs to be filled out and submitted to the School System Central Office for consideration of any such requests.
