Hearing Impaired Program

Students with a classification of Hearing Impaired are eligible to receive educational supports and or services. The level and type of these services are determined at the IEP in accordance with the student’s needs and overall functioning ability.   Students who are sign language dependent and who require a sign language interpreter, or who require the instruction of a hearing impaired teacher will receive those services at one of the systems Hearing Impaired Site Based Schools.  Hearing Impaired students who do not need the services of a hearing impaired teacher or interpreter will remain at their home base school and will be monitored by the school based speech and language therapist.
