FACILITY EXPANSION PROGRAM GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

It shall be the policy of the St. Tammany Parish School Board to authorize the construction of a sufficient number of school buildings to meet the demands of present and future student enrollments and, in doing so, provide the most productive education environment possible for students at the lowest expenditure of tax dollars.

Decisions pertaining to the construction of educational facilities will be made only after an attempt has been made to carefully consider the view-points and needs of students, teachers, parents, and other tax payers and receive pertinent advice from qualified professionals.

Architects employed by the Board are expected to plan for utility, simplicity of design, sound economics, including low long-range maintenance costs and insurance rates, high educational utility, and flexibility. All construction shall assure that form fits the designated educational functions of each school and the overall goals, priorities and objectives of the School System.
