It is the policy of the St. Tammany Parish School Board that no person in this district shall, on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, handicap or national origin be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in regard to employment, retention and promotion in any educational program or activity. Age shall be considered only with respect to minimums set by law and the School Board.
The Superintendent shall designate a member of the staff to investigate any and all complaints which may be brought against the district in regard to any alleged discriminatory action. The name, address, and telephone number of the designee shall be publicized accordingly. Grievance procedures shall be promulgated to support the intent of this policy.
Moreover, the school system shall conduct a self-evaluation to determine the need to modify any existing policies or practices in order to be in full compliance with the terms of legislative guidelines.
