The Superintendent shall serve as Secretary and Treasurer of the Board and shall be the official custodian of all funds of the School Board and shall be responsible for the proper safeguarding and accounting for all such funds.

He shall issue a receipt for any monies coming into the hands and deposit such monies in accordance with the laws governing the deposit of public funds.

He shall issue warrants in payment of expenses lawfully incurred on behalf of the School Board, but except as otherwise provided by law, shall issue such warrants only after proper allowance or approval by the Board.

For each school year, the treasurer shall give a bond for the faithful performance of duties, said bond to be written by an insurance company licensed to do business in the State of Louisiana and in an amount to be determined by the Board. The Treasurer shall be responsible under his bond for the faithful performance of duties as Treasurer.

The duties of the Secretary of the Board shall include the following:

1. Keep a full and accurate record of the proceedings of the School Board;
   
2. Send out notices of meetings;
   
3. Furnish School Board members with revisions, updates, or deletions of policies by-laws, and/or administrative regulations;
   
4. Advise Board of policies previously adopted which affect items on the agenda requiring policy consideration;
   
5. Countersign all warrants for school money drawn upon the treasury as required by law; and
   
6. In the absence of the President and Vice-President, call the Board meeting to order and conduct the election of a chairman pro tem.
