Garden Club Event
Members of the Slidell Garden Club recently dedicated one of the three oaks on Salmen High School’s campus in honor of their organization. This dedication represents the Garden Club president’s annual community project which will extend to include the tree's upkeep. President Dorothy Strickland and other representatives of the club formally dedicated the tree with a marker made available through a cooperative project between the school’s National Honor Society and the Slidell Tree Board (an affiliate of Keep Slidell Beautiful). The dedication featured a formal statement and poetry reading by the board and a song performance by student Victoria Burgess. Those present at the dedication from left are teacher Nancy Pearson, Maralyn Stiegler, Rita Faulkner, Carol Neff, Dorothy Strickland, Amber Thomas, Rebecca Whittington, Pat Dalton, Ladonna Crow, Evelyn Bartels, and Salmen Principal Terri Wortmann.
