Kelsey Parker Sings At House of Blues

Pearl River High School junior Kelsey Parker took part in the December 3 International House of Blues Foundation “Bringing Down The House” talent showcase for high school students in New Orleans. She was also in the spotlight there last year as lead singer for the “Crossfire” band made up of other Pearl River High students.

Miss Parker, 16, was one of six high school acts from throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area featured at this year’s event. She performed an original song named “Serenity” and two other songs, placing fourth in the competition.

The band performed two original songs "Sweet Content" and "Falling" at the beginning of the school Prom last March. This year Kelsey decided to enter the House of Blues contest by herself after teaching herself how to play the guitar and writing another original song.

She was also tapped to sing the National Anthem at Pearl River High football games this past fall.
