LHS ProStart Team Wins State Culinary Competition

The Lakeshore High School ProStart team won first place for the second consecutive year in the Culinary Competition at the 14th Annual Louisiana Seafood ProStart Student Invitational which was held March 3-4 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. Students also received $350,000 in collective scholarship money.

LHS Students Win LACUE Video Contest

Jennifer Bellott and John Sartori, who are both students at Lakeshore High and Channel 13 Interns, won the LACUE Student Video Contest in the Academic Category. The students are pictured with Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Julie Matte after being recognized at the January School Board Meeting.

Andrew Fontenot from Lakeshore High is pictued with Northshore high student Emma Landeche, both Channel 13 interns, after being recognized for winning the LACUE Student Video Contest in the Artistic Category. Students Attend STAR Conference

LHS students interested in teaching careers attended the STAR Teaching Academy one-day conference at the David C. Treen Instructional Technology Center in Mandeville.

Following a welcome by Assistant Superintendent Pete Jabbia, the LHS students took to the stage for a special musical performance sporting superhero capes to reflect this year’s theme “Teaching is My Superpower.”

ProStart Students Awarded

Lakeshore High School students in the ProStart program were presented with a Celebrating Success Award by Superintendent W. L. “Trey” Folse, III and School Board President Beth Heintz at the monthly Principals Meeting for the team’s recent success on the state and national level.

Lakeshore Hosts 2014
Chamber of Commerce Expo

Hundreds of area residents and business people visited the 2014 Expo held by the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce on June 19, the event’s third year at Lakeshore High School. Superintendent W. L. “Trey” Folse, III and Chamber President and CEO Lacey Toledano cut the ribbon to open the four-hour community business showcase.

More than 100 exhibitors lined the main hallway the school for the extensive display of St. Tammany Parish professionals, products and services. Superintendent Folse and Assistant Superintendent Cheryl Arabie greeted visitors to the school located north of Mandeville, and School Board President Elizabeth Heintz, Lakeshore High Principal Dr. Jeanne Wagner and Assistant Principal Stephen Soileau were also in attendance.
