Lakeshore Hosts Expo

Hundreds of area residents and business people visited Lakeshore High School June 21 to attend the annual West St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce Expo. Ninety exhibitors lined the hallways of Lakeshore High for the first ever showcase of St. Tammany Parish businesses held in a public school.

Superintendent W. L. “Trey” Folse, III, welcomed the public and exhibitors to the event on behalf of the School System, saying, “We are certainly excited to have you here and be a part of the chamber for this exciting event. We value the chamber as one of our community partners and thank you for giving us the opportunity to host Expo 2012.”

He gave a brief overview of Lakeshore High School and thanked Principal Brennan McCurley for working with  the chamber to make the event a success. “We look forward to a continuing partnership with the Chamber for many years to come,” he said.

The exhibits ran from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with students from the Talented Music Program providing entertainment. Talented music students taking part included Andrew Bays, Scott Brady, Kelsey Bordelon, Brandi Callais, Claire and Paige Putnam.

Bicentennial Books

Lakeshore High Students Share Bicentennial Books with Bayou Lacombe Students
Lakeshore High School partnered with Bayou Lacombe Middle School to create awareness for the Bicentennial Celebration for the state of Louisiana. Mrs.Wagner, an English teacher at Lakeshore, worked with the English department to pick students from their classes who have exhibited good behavior and maintained good grades. These students visited Bayou Lacombe Middle School classrooms and read stories with themes of Louisiana’s Bicentennial to the students. Pictured in the group photo are: Rachael Newton, Natalie Faciane, Brooke Backshear, Krista Girod, Eric Malick, Stephanie Niemiec, Grant Stiebing, Dominique Dolese, Jessica Parker, Autumn Hamm, Mikaela Allen, Katie Trapp, and Baylee Ives.

National Anthem

 

Two students from Lakeshore High School, Claire and Paige Putnam, sang the National Anthem during Inauguration Ceremonies held at the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center on Monday, January 9. They are shown below during the performance.

Following the event, Superintendent W. L. "Trey" Folse, III, center, congratulated them on their appearance at the memorable event. Claire is on the left, and Paige is on the right.

Cheerleaders

The cheerleading squad from Lakeshore High won second place in the “Super Varsity Category” of the cheerleading competition at the first ever Dance and Cheer State Championships held by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LSHAA) in Lake Charles in early December.

Yearbooks Distributed

Lakeshore High School recently celebrated its first yearbook distribution and signing party on September 16, 2011. Students received their yearbooks from 2010-2011 school year. Our yearbooks are printed over the summer and are distributed in the following school year. Students gathered to sign each other’s yearbooks as they enjoyed refreshments provided by The Script yearbook staff.
