Lake Harbor Middle School recently hosted the West St. Tammany Parish Middle School Honor Band, under the direction of Ms. Jennifer Pulling (Director of Bands at Mandeville Junior High).  Seventeen of the sixty-six students selected for the honor band were from the Lake Harbor Middle School Band. Isabel Moeller, Laural Mason, Alexa Smith, & Adrian Romani came in first in their sections on flute, clarinet, trombone, and tuba.  

Honoring Substitutes

Recently Lake Harbor Middle School honored their substitutes with Sweet Treats and lunch.  Pictured is Lake Harbor Sub of the Year and St. Tammany District of the Year Cathy Hansen and Principal Susan Patin.

Library Club Members Read to 4th Graders

Technology Awarded Through Deborah Rochelle Grant

Lake Harbor Middle School Library club recently held a pajama drive for needy children.  Students were asked to donate pajamas as new books for kids in need.  Once their goal was met, teachers would wear pajamas to school!

Highest Performing School Recognition

Lake Harbor Middle School was recently recognized as St. Tammany’s Highest performing school.  Pictured is Assistant Superintendent, Cheryl Arabie, Assistant Principal Nicolle Balser, Principal Susan Patin, and Superintendent, Trey Folse.

Educator of Distinction

Lake Harbor Middle School PTA recently chose its Educator of Distinction.  This year’s recipient is band director, Becky Hicks.  Congratulations, Becky!

Mini Grant Program Winners

Lake Harbor Middle School PTA recently chose grant winners for their mini grant program.  Fifth grade teachers Kim Pechon and Nancy Dieck won this year’s awards for math materials and student council recess games.

Elise Strain Chosen as Student of the Year

Lake Harbor Middle School chose Elise Strain as the Student of the Year. Elise is a fifth grade student who excels musically and academically, but more than that, Elise is a person who very active in her community.  She is currently working with The Lake Harbor Relay for Life Team to raise money by selling “Cool Caps for Cancer”.  The caps will be bottle tops that are decorated and can be worn as jewelry.  The money raised will benefit the American Cancer Society. Lake Harbor Library Club Officers

Lake Harbor Middle School Library club officers were recently elected.  The library club helps in the library as well as holds an annual fundraiser, Pajamas for Kids.

Lake Harbor students celebrate good behavior with a "Beacon Bash" and "Blast Off" celebration with lots of fun activities.


Student Chosen as a Winner in Banner Contest

Love Mikolavich, 4th grader at Lake Harbor Middle, was one of the winners of the Winter on the Water Banner contest. Her banner was chosen as one of ten banners that will hang on Girard Street in Mandeville during the holiday season. There were 1,000 entries this year- what an accomplishment for Love!! She is pictured receiving her certificate with Mayor Don Villere of Mandeville.

Special Olympics

Students from Lake Harbor Middle enjoyed the Middle School Special Olympics on Wednesday, October 29th. Everyone returned to school with First, Second and Third place ribbons!

Family Learning Night

Whitney Bank Partnership Teaches Life Skills

"Fill the Van"

Grace Hawkins (Left) and Ella Pettito (right) were the Top Sellers for Lake Harbor's Magazine Sale. The two girls were allowed to be the Principal and Assistant Principal for the day, where they assisted Mrs. Patin and Mrs. Balser with their duties and paperwork.


Texas Roadhouse Fundraising Night

Lake Harbor recently held a Texas Roadhouse fundraising night. Family and friends of Lake Harbor Middle School were invited to go and enjoy a night out.  A percentage of the proceeds raised will come back to the school to aid in the quality instruction of its students.  Lake Harbor honored two teachers chosen by their peers as stand out “Shining Star Employees”. Teachers and staff can nominate a teacher or staff member that they feel has been going above and beyond for the students of Lake Harbor. Jeans for Juvenile Diabetes

Students wear jeans and blue shirts on Thursday October 2nd as part of the districts day to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Blue symbolizes the color for The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Fourth Graders Learn About Magnets

Lake Harbor Middle School fourth grade students from Ms. Jenny Miler’s class were recently learning about magnets in Science class.  The students were pulling items out of the sand by using a magnet.  Bryce pulled out a key! New Family Orientation

Lake Harbor Middle School held a New Family Orientation the week before the 2014-2015 school began. Administrators, Susan Patin and Nicolle Balser reviewed policies, procedures, curriculum, and general school information, and a tour of the school was offered to all families who attended. Teacher of the Year

Julie Mallory, 6th grade Math teacher was presented the honor of being selected as the
2014-2015 Teacher of the Year at Lake Harbor Middle School during the school's Open House.  Mrs. Mallory is very involved at LHM as the Yearbook Co-sponsor, Teacher Leader, Design Team Leader, and serves on many school committees as well. Pictured are Julie and Susan Patin, Principal.

September PBIS Employee Winners

Teachers Receive Grants

Two fifth grade teachers from Lake Harbor Middle School, Nancy Dieck and Suzanne Buras have each been awarded a $3500 grant for their classrooms, where they will be purchasing technology to complete the projects for which they wrote the grants. The Deborah Rochelle Grant and the Kelly Cook Foundation have been a most innovative and generous source of funding for teachers and schools across Louisiana.
