Chevron, STPPS Partnership Continues to Grow (12-07-2020)

Chevron has been a valued partner of the St. Tammany Parish Public System's STEM initiatives and Project Lead the Way programs. In its continued support of STPPS, Chevron donated $100,000 for multiple programs at December's Committee As A Whole Meeting.
Chevron's generosity will fund our annual Energy for Learning Grant which supports robotics teams and clubs, science and mathematics instructional materials, and teacher professional development in those content areas.
Additionally, Chevron sponsors STPPS's Project Lead the Way programs which introduce STEM concepts and practices at the elementary level with the Launch program, continuing on to junior high with the Gateway to Technology program, and extending to high school with the Introduction to Engineering Design and Principles to Engineering courses.
The final parts of Chevron's donation were a $50,000 gift to support phenomenon-based learning in the science classrooms and 15,000 surgical masks.
