The Covington High Lions are the national champions of the high school powerlifting world, again. Covington High completed its three-peat with a dominating overall performance at the 2018 High School National Powerlifting Championship in Appleton, Wisc.

The CHS boys won the national championship, while the girls were national runners-up. Covington High has won the national title four of the last five years.

Three Lions took home individual national titles. Trai Chatman defended his 2017 national title at 114 pounds while also being named Most Outstanding Lifter of the Meet. Tommy Annello won the national title at 205 pounds, while Grace Albarez won the 103-pound national title on the girls' side.

Both Chatman and Albarez won their second consecutive national titles. In 2017, she won the national title at 97 pounds.
