STPPS Students "Read for the Record"

So the kitten thought he was a duck? Elementary students across STPPS quickly learned that the lovable kitten was indeed a cat and not a duck in the delightful story called “Quackers” by Liz Wong. The book was part of Thursday’s "Read for the Record" campaign by Jumpstart Kids to promote the importance of reading and literacy.

Thousands of students and adults at 29 STPPS schools read the book to help the millions of people across the country reading the same book to help set a world record and inspire children to read.

Superintendent Trey Folse read to first graders at Folsom Elementary and they were quick to point out that Quackers was indeed a kitten and not a duck.

After reading to the first graders, students in Ms. Andersen’s class showed their baby chick named Miracle to Mr. Folse.
