Summer Vacation Begins for Students Friday ::..

The 2014-2015 School Year ends for students with a half day on Friday, May 22nd. The next school session begins on Friday, August 7th.

2015-2016 Teachers and Principals of the Year Announced ::..

Six educators received one of the district’s highest honors by being named 2015-2016 Teachers and Principals of the Year.

Named as District Teachers of the Year are Kelly Stomps, Woodlake Elementary, in the Elementary Division, Nicole Burkes, Boyet Jr. High, in the Middle/Jr. High Division, and Tracy Hoffman, Fontainebleau High, in the High School Division.

The Principals of the Year are Lelia Parker from Woodlake Elementary in the Elementary Division, Diane Combs from Pine View Middle in the Middle/Jr. High Division and Roslyn Hanson from Covington High in the High School Division.

Pearl River High School Students Win Recipe Contest ::..

“Blapple Pie” made with apples and black beans won Pearl River High School ProStart students 1st place in the Louisiana ProStart Recipe Competition.

Students from around the state were challenged to come up with innovative dishes made with beans in the competition put on by The Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation (LRAEF) and Camellia Brand.

Pearl River High School ProStart team members Brianna Hale, Isabelle Rigby, and Savannah Walker won the judges over with their fresh idea of cooking a dessert with beans.

The judges said that the black beans added a depth of flavor that worked well with the cinnamon and cayenne pepper in a way they would never have imagined.

Congratulations STPPS Class of 2015 ::..

2,277 students walked across the stage this week during commencement ceremonies for each of the eight high schools.

Family members, friends, teachers and other supporters proudly cheered on the St. Tammany Parish Public School System Class of 2015 in celebration of their accomplishments and success.
