Eveyln Talley, a member of the Class of 1940, spoke to the students and faculty at Covington High School Friday morning, August 10, at the school’s Centennial Kick 0ff Celebration. She was greeted by Superintendent W. L. “Trey” Folse, III, left, and Principal Deborah McCollum, right. Mrs. Talley told the students to appreciate the many opportunities they have at the school, do their best, and take part in celebrating the 100 year heritage of Covington High. Many events will be taking place over the next year commemorating the school’s Centennial. Mrs. Talley’s husband, the late Theodore “Red” Talley, was a School Board member for 12 years and was instrumental in building Jack Salter stadium where the opening ceremonies took place as well as the new school building on U.S. 190. 2012-08-10 15:57:54
