School System Receives Financial Report Awards For 22nd Year ::..

 The School System’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the Fiscal Year ending in 2009 has earned top honors from two professional organizations. At its January meeting, the St. Tammany Parish School Board received a Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the American School Board Officials International (ASBOIntl) as well as a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of Louisiana (GFOA). The School System has won the two recognitions for 22 years in a row. At the January School Board meeting, Joey Richard, at left, presented the ASBOIntl Certificate to Superintendent W. L. “Trey” Folse, III, second from left, and Mike Battle, at right, with the Louisiana Legislative Auditors Office presented the Certificate of Excellence from GFOA to Director of Business Affairs Terri Fortenberry, third from left. The awards were given for outstanding work in producing the annual Financial Report and adhering to key professional accounting practices.
