Seafood Festival Poster Presented To School Board

The official poster of the 2010 Mandeville Seafood Festival was presented to Superintendent Gayle Sloan at the May meeting of the School Board. Rick Danielson with the Northshore Kiwanis Club of Mandeville told the Board that each year the group chooses a poster design through a contest among high school and junior high students. Over 65 poster designs were submitted this year, the highest number ever. This year's poster was created by Kyle Ursin of Mandeville High, at left. The first runner up in the contest was a poster designed by Annette Hebert, and the second runner up poster was done by Emma Kolb. Both Hebert and Kolb are Mandeville High students. Contest finalists included Kristen Green of Lakeshore High, Alma Hagen of Monteleone Junior High, Ben Menard of Fontainebleau Junior High, and Francis Pradis of Mandeville Junior High. The festival will take place July 1 through July 4 at Fontainebleau State Park. All proceeds from poster sales help support Kiwanis sponsored organizations such as the Children's Museum, K-Bar-B Youth Ranch, Children's Advocacy Center and other organizations.
