First Circuit Court of Appeals Welcomes Student Visitors

A three judge panel from the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeals took time out at the beginning of its court session in Covington recently to welcome more than 100 students visiting from St. Tammany Parish Public Schools. The court reviewed appeals at the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center as part of its annual visit to courthouses outside of Baton Rouge, where it usually hears cases. Judge James E. Kuhn (upper right, pointing) explained courtroom procedures to students from Covington High, Fontainebleau High, and Slidell High. The juniors and seniors were taking part in field trips in their classes of American Government, Gifted Civics, and Law Studies.
