Abilities Awareness Day Program Wins Superintendentís Award

A two-year old program at Mandeville Middle School that teaches tolerance and understanding won the 2007-2008 Superintendentís Award for Outstanding Character and Citizenship. The Abilities Awareness Day Program provides opportunities for students to meet and talk with persons with various impairments. Program organizers School Counselor Judy Meyers (left) and PTA Board Member Janelle Meyers (right) accepted the award. Mandeville Middle School Principal Kim Wood (center) was present at the School Board meeting to congratulate the two for the recognition.
