Student Nutrition Advisory Councils (SNAC's)

Student leaders selected to serve on Student Nutrition Advisory Councils (SNACs) provide a vital link to our Food Service program. The SNACs give input on menu selection, host guests for special events such as National School Lunch Week, and assist managers with "Go, Glow, and Grow" Nutrition Education activities. Community service projects also are a priority.

2012-2013 Outstanding Nutrition Advisory Councils were:

Brock Elementary School

Abney Elementary SNAC Visits Early Education Childhood Center

l

Abney Elementary students from the Nutrition Advisory Council and the Principal's Goldfish Club visited the Abney Early Education Childhood Center Pre-K students at Bayou Woods Elementary yesterday. Pictured are left to right Lillian Pace, Destiny Guillory, and Tiffany Alonzo. Coincidentally, Tiffany's aunt is Paraprofessional Martisha Peterson who is in the PK class with teacher Debra Faciane. Our NAC read THE ENORMOUS POTATO to Ms. Faciane's class.
We were received like Royalty by BWE principal Kathy McDowell and Vice Principal Sheryl Humphries who escorted us around campus during our visit.
