The vision of the St. Tammany Parish School System Employee Wellness Program is to help System employees achieve healthier, more productive lifestyles.
The purpose of the St. Tammany Parish School System Employee Wellness Program is to improve the health and well-being of System employees, reduce absenteeism, and encourage high-quality performance by:
- encouraging employees to adopt healthier lifestyles;
- providing a wide range of health assistance programs for employees;
- recognizing employees and schools for decreasing employee absenteeism caused by health problems; and
- developing a culture throughout the System that enhances the quality of life for all employees and recognizes.
Employee Health Fair Scheduled for Saturday, April 26, in Two Locations
The St. Tammany Parish Public School System will be hosting the 2008 Employee Health Fair on Saturday, April 26, 2008, from 8:00 a. m. to 12:00 p. m. at Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville and Northshore High School in Slidell. There will be free screenings for flexibility, bone density, hearing and vision, body composition and blood pressure. Employees wanting free screening for glucose and cholesterol are advised not to eat or drink anything after 8 p.m. on Friday for best results.

Employee Assistance Program

The St. Tammany Parish School System offers its employees who may be in need of professional assistance due to personal problems, alcohol or chemical dependency, depression, or other related concerns may contact the Employee Assistance Program. Contact telephone numbers are 1-800-256-1575 or 1-504-832-1170.
Other information may be obtained by visiting www.EAPWebsite.com and entering the initials “stpsb” as the password to enter the Web site. Be assured that contacting the Employee Assistance Program telephone number is private and confidential and that no information is relayed to the St. Tammany Parish School System. and celebrates the value of a healthy lifestyle.

Individuals, as well as their family members, who were directly affected by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma may be eligible for assistance through the “Access To Care” program, which can provide up to $2000 per person in reimbursement for mental health or substance abuse treatment.
Access To Care is designed to help individuals cope with difficult emotional issues regardless residence, insurance coverage, or immigration status. To enroll, call 1-566-794-4673 before March 31, 2008.
