Team St. Tammany Wins Big at State Fitness Meet ::..
Team St. Tammany showcased the athleticism of St. Tammany over the weekend, winning big at the Louisiana Schools Elementary Fitness Championship in Baton Rouge.
The district Fitness Team competed against top elementary fitness athletes from over 25 parishes.
Abney Elementary’s Maya Calloway won 1st in the Shuttle Run and 3rd in the V-sit, while teammate Bryce Bell, also from Abney Elementary, won 2nd in Pull-ups.
St. Tammany was represented at the state meet by the six student overall winners from the district Elementary Fitness Meet which was held at Lakeshore High School in March.

Students dressed in their best business attire talked with representatives of a variety of careers from law enforcement and military to teaching and medicine, giving them insight into different professions.
Superintendent Folse thanked the community members in attendance and said, “In our school system we have a motto of working together for success, and I can’t think of a better example of that than having the students here and the community people here to help the students learn about careers.”

St. Tammany Parish Public School System students, parents and employees are making a difference in the community with a $10,052 donation to East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity.
Superintendent W. L. “Trey” Folse, III presented a check to the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity from funds raised on the recent “Hats for Habitat” fundraiser day.
